THEORY:

Massage is the manipulation of muscle and connective tissue to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well-being.

TYPES OF SERVICE MASSAGE:

* Medical Massage - Employs a variety of modalities and procedures to treat the particular problem/areas of a patient's body... (this is my signature service)

*Deep Tissue massage - Similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue.

*Reflexology Massage - Applies pressure to reflex zones on your feet, hands, that relate to system of the body

*Swedish Massage - This is the most relaxing massage it also called aroma therapy. it uses five styles of strokes. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber or with the fibers) and vibration/shaking.

*Thai Massage - This involves a number of stretching movements that improve body flexibility.

*Shiatsu - techniques include massages with fingers, thumbs, and palms; assisted stretching; and joint manipulation and mobilization.
